Recital |  2014 | Paulo Gomes Trio

“ In the course of a master's course, I gave two recitals on the theme I chose and called “ The Third Current ” - Gunter Schuller thus defined the music resulting from the confluence of the first current (classical) with the second current (jazz). In this work, I paid particular attention to the influence that classical music from the beginning of the century. XX, with all its obvious innovations, has had about jazz made after this period.

In both recitals I tried to obtain a common language, starting from the rewriting of the repertoire of both musical universes. On this disc, I summarize the work of these two presentations.

The goal will be achieved the more, the more this set of pieces seems to you to be a single and coherent listening program, whether in concert or on record .” -  Paulo Gomes
